Yellen Favored as Most Likely Fed Chair in PollA large number of private economists at Bloomberg news have indicated in a Survey that Yellen is the most suited candidate for chairperson at the Federal Reserve Bank. The August 9- 13 poll was conducted on 63 economists. Only 10% said that Lawrence Summers will be the best choice.

Another poll by Paddy Power Plc shows different results. It indicates that Lawrence summer is the favorite for the position of Fed Chair. Yellen will be a clear winner if personality and politics is not factored into the equation. There is little indication that Yellen is close to Obama. On the other hand, Obama is not only close, but comfortable with Lawrence Summers.

Yellen has been the Vice Chair at the Fed since 2010. Previously, she was an economics professor at the University of California. She later on headed the National Council of Economic Advisors under Clinton Administration. She is highly qualified for the job.
